With its fast 7.7:1 gear ratio and high capacity, the LAGOA baitcasting reel is designed for light jigging, a highly effective technique when practiced with the right equipment. The LAGOA will also be an excellent ally for your vertical sea fishing, as it is perfectly suited for madai jig fishing or soft lures (meagre, pollack, cod).

Sakura presents its superb "light jig – slow jigging" Lagoa reel, designed for these fashionable marine fishing techniques, popular for several years in European waters. Machined from a single block of aluminum, its compact design combined with proven mechanics make it an ideal reel to equip our Salt Sniper and Shükan rods.

Its fast gear ratio is perfectly suited because, in light jigging, fishing is often done at great depths, and a baitcasting reel with too slow a ratio (< 6.8:1) would quickly become very unpleasant to use during animations and lure retrieval. Note the Lagoa's extremely powerful drag, capable of stopping any marine predator attempting to seek refuge in its lair.
