The Daiwa 22 EXIST introduces the Airdrive Design concept, a new generation of reels designed to offer precise control, great fluidity, and reduced weight.

Its design is based on a two-part structure. The rear body relies on Monocoque and Tough Digigear technologies to ensure robustness and reliability, while the front part has been completely redesigned around key elements: the rotor, the bail arm, the spool, and the shaft.

The Airdrive rotor, lighter and stronger, reduces rotational inertia by 16%, which improves responsiveness and user comfort. The bail arm has also been optimized with a finer pick-up, a re-worked angle, and an improved line roller to smooth line passage and limit tangles.

The lightened spool features a shoulder that limits the risk of line entanglement and incorporates the ATD-L drag for more progressive and precise management, accompanied by a clicker with a more pronounced sound.

The internal mechanism has been optimized to offer smooth and silent rotation, with a shaft supported by bearings at the ends of the pinion to ensure power transmission without loss.
