The Mazzy Popper is a versatile topwater lure capable of replicating the action of several types of lures in one model. With short jerks, its truncated snout combined with a short lip abruptly displaces water and generates a very attractive popper-type action. When retrieved steadily, without any particular animation, it develops a powerful wobbling action, churning a significant volume of water, which makes it effective even when fish are less active.

With the rod held high, the Mazzy Popper moves just below the surface, limiting the risk of snags in cluttered areas. A more pronounced animation allows it to pop then dive a few tens of centimeters, swaying from side to side, before rising back to the surface with a distinct rolling action.
